NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP) Cyprus' Football Association says its president will meet with his Turkish Cypriot counterpart from the divided island's breakaway north at FIFA headquarters next month to finalize a "provisional" deal aimed at unifying the two bodies.
A CFA statement said Friday that FIFA president Sepp Blatter will chair the Nov. 5 meeting, which will also be attended by UEFA President Michel Platini.
The statement said the two sides are expected to sign a document "outlining the steps for the progress of football" in all of Cyprus.
Koutsokoumnis declined to disclose any details of the agreement when contacted by The Associated Press.
Cyprus was divided in 1974 when Turkey invaded after a coup by supporters of a union with Greece. Only the CFA is recognized by FIFA.
