PARIS (AP) French champion Paris Saint-Germain's spending spree has continued with the signing of Brazilian center-half Marquinhos from AS Roma.
PSG says the 19-year-old joined on a five-year contract. Financial details were not announced, though reports estimated the transfer at 35 million euros ($46 million).
Marquinhos played 26 Serie A matches for Roma last season and impressed with his passing. He will play alongside countryman Thiago Silva.
Last week, PSG signed Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani to a five-year contract for 64 million euros ($84 million) in the fifth most expensive transfer in history.
PSG also recently signed 19-year-old left back Lucas Digne from Lille.
