LISBON, Portugal (AP) FC Porto and Benfica both earned wins away from home on Sunday, keeping the tile rivals in touch with Portuguese league leader Sporting Lisbon.
Porto won 3-1 at Rio Ave while Benfica edged Olhanense 3-2 on the road to keep both teams two points behind Sporting.
Defender Maicon opened for Porto six minutes in from a pass by Carlos Eduardo. Jackson Martinez doubled the score with a header from a cross by Silvestre Varela in the 51st, and Danilo capped the victory in the 82nd.
Benfica fell behind twice at Olhanense and rallied to level each time thanks to goals by Lima in the 19th and Nemanja Matic in the 37th.
Miralem Sulejmani went on at the start of the second half for Benfica and two minutes later scored the winner from a pass by Rodrigo Moreno.
