PRAGUE (AP) Viktoria Plzen says Roman Hubnik has agreed to move to the Czech Republic champion from the Bundesliga's Hertha Berlin on a one-year contract.
Plzen announced the transfer of the 29-year-old Czech international central defender on Tuesday.
It was seeking to cement its defense ahead of the group stage of the Champions League after its key central defender, Marian Cisovsky, was injured and became unavailable.
Plzen is facing defending champion Bayern Munich, Manchester City and CSKA Moscow in Group D after the side qualified for the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.
Hubnik has made 24 international appearances for the Czech Republic.
