Brazil police arrested two fans who allegedly planned to throw a grenade at a bus full of rival supporters after a Brazilian league soccer match at the weekend.
The two Palmeiras fans were detained at a federal highway police checkpoint on Monday after the team's 3-1 loss to Cruzeiro in Sao Paulo.
Jefferson Ferreira Lima and Jorge Luiz Sampaio Santos were carrying an American-made grenade and confessed they were going to throw it at the bus transporting Cruzeiro fans back to the team's hometown of Belo Horizonte, about 550km northeast of Sao Paulo, police said.
