BRIDGEVIEW, Illinois (AP) Adam Moffat's 90th-minute equalizer earned Houston a 1-1 draw with Chicago Fire on Sunday and lifted the Dynamo into playoff contention in the MLS Eastern Conference.
Houston conceded an own goal from a corner in the 36th minute and trailed until Moffat latched on to Corey Ashe's backheel pass on the left side and drove a shot over Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson's outstretched left hand.
Houston moved into fifth spot in the conference, equal with New England on 37 points but with a game in hand.
At Vancouver, second-half substitute Tommy Heinemann's goal in stoppage time secured a comeback 2-2 draw for the White Caps against Chivas USA, which is languishing in last place in the Western Conference.
Erick Torres scored in the 3rd and 14th minutes to give the visitors a surprising 2-0 lead before Gershon Koffie pulled one back for the hosts in the 64th minute and Torres equalized late.
