LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) Former AC Milan forward and Monaco coach Marco Simone has been hired as technical director by struggling Swiss club Lausanne-Sport.
Lausanne says Simone has chosen Henri Atamaniuk to coach the last-place team.
Lausanne has won just one of 14 league matches and trails 11 points behind ninth-placed Zurich.
Two seasons ago, Simone coached Monaco in the French second division before being replaced by Claudio Ranieri.
The Italy international was in the Milan squad that won the European Cup in 1990 and Champions League in '94. He later played in France for Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.
