DORTMUND, Germany (AP) Borussia Dortmund has extended highly rated midfielder Jonas Hofmann's contract through June 2018.
The Bundesliga side says on its website that the 21-year-old Hofmann signed his new deal on Friday.
Hofmann scored one goal and set up four more in four appearances as a substitute in the league and cup this season.
Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc says "Jonas has taken a huge step forward in the last months but he is a long way from ending his development. We're delighted to work with him long-term and to be able to go through hopefully the best part of his career together."
Hofmann, a German under-21 international, switched to Dortmund from Hoffenheim in 2011.
