GUANGZHOU, China (AP) Marcello Lippi's Guangzhou Evergrande advanced to the Asian Champions League final for the first time with a 4-0 win over Japan's Kashiwa Reysol on Wednesday night and will meet FC Seoul for the continental club title.
Brazilian Muriqui scored two second-half goals for the Chinese Super League champions to take his tally to 13 in a dozen ACL matches and help Guangzhou to an 8-1 aggregate in the home-and-away semifinal series.
Brazilian Elkeson opened the scoring in the 16th minute and Argentina's Dario Conca increased the margin in the 57th before Muriqui pair of goals in the last 11 minutes.
"In the away game, we showed a lot of authority and personality and we won that game 4-1," Lippi said. "We used the character of our players in attack. We played the ball around and took control and we showed our quality."
FC Seoul held Iranian club Estghlal to a 2-2 draw in Tehran, enough to advance 4-2 on aggregate.
