BASEL, Switzerland (AP) Swiss club FC Basel says Greenpeace donated money to a charity supported by the club after environmental activists disrupted a Champions League match.
Basel says Greenpeace has given "a considerable sum" to a children's home in Romania following the Oct. 1 incident.
UEFA fined Basel 30,000 euros ($41,000) for the security breach at St. Jakob Park during a match against Schalke.
Greenpeace activists abseiled from the stadium roof to unfurl a banner protesting Russian oil and gas firm Gazprom, which sponsors the Champions League and Schalke.
The banner also referred to 30 people detained in Russia after their boat was seized during a protest at an Arctic drilling platform.
