LISBON, Portugal (AP) Gil Vicente edged Rio Ave on the road with a 1-0 victory thanks to Luis Martin's late winner in the Portuguese league on Saturday.
Martins scored what proved to be the decisive goal in the 79th minute.
The win provisionally lifted Gil Vicente into fourth place, level on points with Benfica before it hosts Nacional on Sunday.
Leader FC Porto is five points ahead with Sporting Lisbon in between before they play one another also on Sunday.
Also, Olhanense beat visiting Arouca 1-0, while Setubal was held to 0-0 at home by Belenenses.
