NOTTINGHAM, England (AP) Nottingham Forest midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah says he was racially abused by Millwall fans during a second-tier English match.
Forest released a statement saying the 18-year-old Chalobah, who is on loan from Chelsea, told the club's deputy manager at halftime that he believed he was the target of racist chanting by a section of Millwall fans in the first half of Tuesday's match.
Forest says Wednesday that Chalobah "was upset by the alleged abuse and struggled to keep his concentration during the interval as a result."
The Midlands team says it has been in contact with Millwall and will be "liaising closely with the relevant authorities in their investigation of this issue."
