Germany's Lukas Podolski is not just a World Cup winner but he also won Twitter today after posting selfies following his side's 1-0 over Argentina in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Arsenal forward didn't get on the field in the final but was quick to snap a photo with teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger on the pitch after fulltime and post it on his Twitter feed.

The photo, with Schweinsteiger planting a kiss on Podolski's cheek, has already been retweeted by 78,000 followers.

Podolski then posted another one with German chancellor Angela Merkel along with the World Cup trophy.
