Australia at cup Striker Mark Viduka has been named Australian captain for next month's World Cup soccer finals in Germany.
Viduka, who captained Australia in their World Cup qualifying playoff win against Uruguay last November, was yesterday given the job over former skipper Craig Moore.
Moore was the long-time captain under previous coach Frank Farina but missed the two matches against Uruguay because of injury.
Australia play the first of their pre-World Cup "friendly" matches against Greece in Melbourne on Thursday.
