Soccer: Shin scan for Owens Hargreaves

England soccer midfielder Owen Hargreaves will have his injured shin scanned to determine the extent of the damage after he suffered an injury against Argentina last Friday.

Hargreaves has had an x-ray which revealed no fracture.

The outcome is vital for an England squad running short of fully fit midfielders after two matches in group F.

Manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has only four fully fit players for his four midfield spots for the game against Nigeria - captain David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Trevor Sinclair.
