Football Federation Australia chairman Frank Lowy said yesterday Australia must aim not only to host the 2018 soccer World Cup but also to play in the final.
Lowy said he believed Australia had a reasonable chance of winning the right to host soccer's premier event.
His optimism came after the FIFA executive voted this week to scrap its regional rotation system for the tournament.
