MUNICH - Ivory Coast came back from two goals down to beat Serbia & Montenegro 3-2 today and record their first victory at a soccer World Cup finals.
Both teams were already eliminated after losing their opening two games to Group C leaders Argentina and Netherlands.
Serbia & Montenegro, who finished with 10 men after substitute Albert Nadj was sent off just before the interval, went two up in 20 minutes through Nikola Zigic and Sasa Ilic.
But Aruna Dindane pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 36th minute after a clear handball by Milan Dudic and the same player hit the equaliser in the 67th minute.
Dudic handled again in the 86th minute and Bonaventure Kalou scored the winner from the penalty spot. Ivory Coast's Cyrille Domoraud was sent off in stoppage time.
