The Japanese immigration authorities have refused entry to two England soccer fans in the nation's first bid to prevent hooligans from attending the World Cup.
"The two, both aged 34, arrived here on Sunday ... on a flight from Istanbul and we judged they are hooligans after a screening," said an official at New Tokyo International Airport at Narita, northeast of Tokyo. The men are being detained at the airport and are expected to be sent back to Turkey.
In South Korea, a suspected English hooligan was refused entry on May 19.
