World Cup referees have vowed to crack down on players who orchestrate and feign fouls to get opponents in trouble.
Fifa development director George Cumming, who co-ordinates referee training, said the clampdown on cheats would be a major focus for this World Cup. "We think that simulation is a major problem in the game. They are not just trying to cheat the referees, they are also trying to cheat the game of football," he said. Offenders will get an automatic yellow card and in many cases will be ordered off.
