Soccer: Bookies cut odds

Brazil's opening 2-1 victory over Turkey has persuaded London bookmakers William Hill to install the four-times champions at 7-2 joint favourites alongside Italy to win the cup.

Previous favourites Argentina were trimmed to 100-30 after their victory over Nigeria, but they have now moved back out to 4-1.

They are followed by France (6-1), Spain (13-2), Germany and Portugal (14-1) and England (16-1).

Christian Vieri, who scored both goals in Italy's 2-0 defeat of Ecuador, is the new 4-1 favourite to be the cup's top scorer. Brazilian striker Ronaldo is at 9-2 and Miroslav Klose, of Germany, at 7-1..
