An Italian shirt signed by Christian Vieri, Francesco Totti and the rest of the national team fetched $5750 to launch a memorabilia auction on the World Cup's official website in aid of children.
"The first bid to be closed was for the Italian national team jersey," said world soccer's governing body, Fifa, adding that the lot included a pin, a pen and a key ring.
The FIFAworldcup.com auction is in aid of the United Nations children's fund Unicef. At least 40 autographed items have been donated and further donations are expected before the tournament ends on June 30.
