Falkensteiner Hotel and Spa
Bad Waltersdorf, Austria
One thing I'm hopeless at is packing. However, I think I'll be pretty good at it by the time this tour is over. I hastily threw my gear into bags in around 15 minutes this morning as we left our third hotel of the tour.
Walking past the lads' rooms on the way to reception I had to giggle as most of them looked frustrated and were a little violent with their luggage, like I had been. We started to relax once on the bus and I felt a wee bit excited. We were stopping to watch England play Japan on our way to Bad Waltersdorf.
For the majority of the squad it was their first chance to watch some of the world's best players in action for their country. After a quick bite to eat at a great bar and grill just outside the stadium, we were ushered to our V.I.P seats just before kick-off. We were surprised and a little embarrassed when the ground announcer welcomed us over the P.A system. I may have even seen Wayne Rooney look up into the stands to acknowledge us.
After a quick look around the hotel in Bad Waltersdorf, I realised the European meaning for spa. I didn't know exactly where to look as a naked, middle-aged couple jumped out of the spa. A few of the other lads were not as uncomfortable as they took off their All Whites tracksuit and jumped in. Well done boys, you did the badge proud!
I guess the phrase "when in Rome" comes to mind.
