Wayne Rooney is in contention to face Arsenal this weekend amid allegations of an all-night drinking session while on international duty.
The Sun alleged that Rooney was seen 'stumbling around' and could 'barely speak' as England players and staff enjoyed a night off on Saturday after beating Scotland.
The Manchester United captain then missed the 2-2 draw with Spain with what was described as a minor knee injury three days later.
Rooney was back at Carrington this week to undergo checks on the knee problem and Sportsmail understands his inclusion against Arsenal is dependant on fitness rather than heavy drinking allegations.
The 31-year-old was at The Grove hotel on Saturday, with reports that they shared rounds of beer and red wine. A source then claimed he was invited to a wedding party and carried on drinking and posing for photographs.
