Auckland City captain Ivan Vicelich has been named the third best player at the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup, and was today presented with the Bronze Ball award in Morocco.
Vicelich was Auckland's midfield general as they defeated the champions of Morocco, Africa and North America on their way to a third placed finish at the tournament.
Vicelich was joined by footballing royalty on the podium as he stood next to Real Madrid's Golden Ball winner Sergio Ramos and Silver Ball winner Cristiano Ronaldo, both of whom featured in Real's win in the final over Argentinian side San Lorenzo.
The 38-year old midfielder was named man of the match in Auckland's first game against Moghreb Tetouan and played every minute of their opening three matches.
He played a key role in shielding Auckland's exceptional back four, and helped them achieve an impressive defensive record, conceding only three goals in four games.
