Central Coast defender Storm Roux's A-League season appears over as he undergoes surgery on a leg fracture following a freak incident at AAMI Park on Sunday.
The New Zealand international also incurred ligament disruption in his leg and a shoulder dislocation when his foot stuck in the turf as turnedsharply in the goalmouth during his last-placed team's 4-1 loss to Melbourne City.
Roux was administered with pain relief on the pitch before being stretchered off and he was to have surgery in Sydney on Monday.
It was the second horror incident at AAMI Park during the round.
Fans were left wincing on Friday night when Adelaide United's Craig Goodwin sustained a heavy concussion and cricket-ball sized bump on his forehead after crashing into the knee of Melbourne Victory defender Daniel Georgievski.
