English football legend Sir Alex Ferguson is out of intensive care after undergoing emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage.
Manchester United have announced Ferguson, 76, will continue his rehabilitation as an inpatient at Salford Royal Hospital, the BBC reported.
The Scot retired as United manager in May 2013 after winning 38 trophies during 26 years in charge.
"His family have been overwhelmed by the level of support," the club added.
The family continue to request "vital" privacy as Ferguson enters the next stage of his recovery.
