Some of the most illustrious names in New Zealand football history will come together on Friday night in Hamilton, as the countdown to the Under-20 World Cup continues.
Several former All Whites captains, as well as a unique father and daughter combination will be part of the festival of football at Seddon Park.
Headlining the event is a match between a New Zealand Classic XI versus a Waikato Bay of Plenty Invitational side (7pm). The curtain raiser will be a game between Hamilton Boys High School 1st XI and their Tauranga counterparts (5pm).
The New Zealand XI features 1982 All White Kenny Cresswell, who featured in all three matches in Spain against Scotland, the USSR and Brazil. The team also features Chris Zoricich, who captained the New Zealand teams at the 1999 and 2003 Confederations Cups and Rodger Gray.
Ron Armstrong, whose international career stretched from 1971 to 1983 will take the field alongside his daughter Bridgette, who has represented the Football Ferns. Fellow former Fern Jenny Bindon, who won a record 78 caps for her country, will be one of the goal keepers in action.
