Football defenders aren't renowned for their goal scoring, so it is a rarity to find a match where a defender manages to net a hat-trick of goals.
It is even more rare to see a defender to score a hat-trick of goals and then be red carded shortly after because of the goal scoring celebration he carries out afterwards.
That bizzare scenario is exactly what played out on Tuesday morning (NZT), as Norrby IF defender Medi Dresevic was shown a red card for his unorthodox celebration during a 6-1 win over Tvååker in the Swedish first division, the third tier of Swedish football.
After netting his third goal with an outside-of-the-box volley to round out his hat-trick, Dresevic celebrates by running off the pitch and into the stands, where he sits down and applaudes himself on his goal.
However, the referee was not amused by the defender's ceebration in the slightest, deciding to book Dresevic for his actions for the second time in the match, resulting in a red card and an early post-match shower for Dresevic.
