A former England international footballer helped save a couple from their burning camper van.
Graeme Le Saux was in Surrey - a county bordering London - when he saw smoke coming from a vehicle on the side of the road.
The 46-year-old, who won 36 caps between 1994 and 2000,ushered the couple to safety after discovering there was gas and petrol on board.
Le Saux's wife Mariana, who was also at the scene, told getsurrey.co.uk: "It went from motor home to ashes in around 25 minutes.
"I have never seen anything go up so quickly. You could just see this inferno. We heard mini explosions, which I guess could have been the windows exploding."
A 72-year-old man was treated for smoke inhalation at Royal Surrey County Hospital but his condition was not serious and Rushmoor Fire Station praised Le Saux for his heroics, which he was quick to play down.
