The Football Ferns scored late against the Republic of Ireland to save a 1-1 draw in their opening match in the Cyprus Cup on Thursday at the Tasos Marko stadium in Paralimni, Cyprus.
The game remained deadlocked at 0-0 at halftime, with both teams having good spells of possession and opportunities in front of goal in the first half.
It wasn't until the 64th minute when Ireland's Aine O'Gorman was able to break through, scoring from a cross delivered by half time substitute Siobhan Killeen.
The 16th ranked Football Ferns had a number of chances in the second half over 33rd ranked Ireland, both Betsy Hassett and Sarah Gregorius with chances in front of goal.
It was not until the 87th minute when Hannah Wilkinson was able to get on the end of a long ball in to the box that the Ferns were able to draw level at 1-1.
