All Whites fans, don't despair yet. Ace marksman Chris Wood's hamstring injury may not be bad enough to put him out of the World Cup qualification matches against Peru.
Woods left the field 20 minutes into his Burnley side's 3 - 0 English Premier League defeat at Manchester City this morning.
Wood's absence would be terrible news for the All Whites, who face Peru in Wellington on November 11, and in Lima five days later.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche indicated to the BBC that Wood left the field as a precautionary measure, a decision made by both the club and the player.
Dyche said: "He's got off early - that's the good thing. We got him off early, and he got off early.
