Chris Wood and Burnley's fairy tale run in Europe has come to a frustrating end.
The Kiwi striker and his Burnley side have been knocked out of the Europa League after drawing 1-1 with Greek club Olympiakos in the second leg of their tie at Turf Moor, losing 4-2 on aggregate.
Wood – who scored Burnley's only goal in their 3-1 loss to Olympiacos at Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens earlier in the month – wasn't able to help overturn his side's deficit at home.
After the first leg, Burnley coach Sean Dyche blamed several questionable refereeing decisions in their loss in Athens, but his side will only have themselves to blame this time after creating more than enough chances to turn the tie around.
Despite fielding a weakened team, Burnley were clearly the better side but couldn't convert their chances.
