Stuart Broad has been pictured confronting an Aussie sledger in the Ashes test at Lord's. The fiery fast bower was walking through the famous Long Room at the home of cricket when an Australian fan heckled him.
The Herald looks at five moments when sports stars have hit back at hecklers.
1. Quade Cooper The Herald's Chris Rattue was reportedly the man who wound up Cooper enough for him to furiously let loose with some expletive words on Twitter after the Wallabies 34-9 win over Argentina at the weekend.
Cooper wrote: "Invite me to you're next team discussion then ask me how much I give a f*** about your team selection? Zero f***s given" before deleting the tweet and apologising.
Apologies for any offensive language used on my Twitter feed.. I appreciate the support
2. Eric Cantona The craziest moment of the enigmatic Frenchman's career came in 1995 when he was playing for Manchester United in the Premier League in 1995.
Cantona had just been sent off in a game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park and as he was walking down the touchline towards the tunnel, Palace fan Matthew Simons hurled abuse at the Frenchman and he retaliated by attempting to karate kick Simons.
3. Wayne Rooney Another moment to forget for another Manchester United striker. Wayne Rooney received abuse from a Liverpool fan on Twitter - calling him "a fat whore" and also wrote to Rooney tweeting: "smash ya head in with a pitchin wedge."
Rooney responded with: "you know where I train every day kid come and do it good luck" and "cool bring ur sandwedge girl".
4. Joe Hart Robin Van Persie's late winner in the Manchester derby in 2012 really upset Manchester City. Rio Ferdinand joined in the jubilant celebrations before he was struck above the eye with a coin.
It didn't stop there as one City fan ran on to the pitch to confront Ferdinand before City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart restrained him.
5. New South Wales Before the State of Origin decider in Brisbane earlier this month, New South Wales released a video of players reading out abuse they'd received on social media.
Ryan Hoffman, James Tamou, Trent Merrin and Brent Hodkinson all featured, reading out comments from Queensland fans from Facebook and Twitter and they thanked them for the motivation.
It didn't seem to work as they were thumped 52-6 by Queensland.
