West Ham United have beaten out rivals Tottenham Hotspur to take over the London 2012 Olympics stadium, according to the BBC.
The decision is set to be announced later this week after both English Prmeier League sides submitted bids to the Olympic Park Legacy Company, an unsourced report on the BBC's website said.
The key difference between the two bids were that West Ham plan to keep the athletics track in the stadium while Tottenham wish to demolish most of the 500 million pounds ($NZ1.05 billion) stadium which will host next year's Olympics and replace it with a 60,000-seat purpose-built soccer stadium.
West Ham currently sit in last place on the Premier League table and face relegation at the end of the season.
