Carlos Tevez is expected to be on the substitutes' bench for Manchester City's Barclays Premier League game against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow.
The former City captain has not played for the club since allegedly refusing to come on as a substitute at Bayern Munich last September.
But Tevez has trained well since returning to the club at the start of last month and is expected to be named on the bench for the crucial game. Roberto Mancini's team are four points behind neighbours Manchester United and lost their last league match at Swansea.
Central defenders Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott are struggling to be ready in time.
Lescott did some training yesterday but is still short of 100 per cent fitness.
