All Whites soccer captain Ryan Nelsen is expected to be fit for Blackburn Rovers' English Premier League match against Fulham on Sunday despite limping off with a foot injury during their 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the weekend.
Nelsen received a kick to his foot in a clash with City's Yaya Toure and, after initially trying to carry on, was substituted in the 40th minute of the match at Eastlands.
His injury will be assessed on Tuesday (NZT) but Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce said the central defender should be fine for the Fulham match, which is welcome news for New Zealand soccer fans with internationals looming against Honduras in Auckland on October 9 and Paraguay in Wellington on October 12.
