CLAIREFONTAINE, France (AP) Hugo Lloris will resume full training for France on Tuesday and coach Didier Deschamps expects the goalkeeper to play against Ukraine in the first match of their World Cup playoff on Friday.
Lloris was rested by Tottenham for Sunday's home game against Newcastle after being ordered by doctors not to play, having also sat out Thursday's Europa League win over Sheriff Tiraspol after being knocked unconscious late in last Sunday's match against Everton after his head collided with Romelu Lukaku's knee.
"He's fine, he's very well. He did specific training, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with Tottenham," Deschamps said Monday at France's training camp. "He will do some specific training today and tomorrow he'll take part in training as normal. There are no worries with Hugo."
Wayne Diesel, Spurs' head of medical services, said that Lloris wanted to play against Newcastle. However, he failed a concussion-related test on Saturday.
Deschamps added that Lloris did not need any further medical tests when he joined up with the France camp.
