Cristiano Ronaldo's incredible new film ahead of Euro 2016

Millions of children everywhere have dreamt of trading places with Cristiano Ronaldo, and Nike have given an insight into what it might be like in a new short film.

'The Switch', the most extensive shoot Ronaldo has ever done for Nike, sees a ball boy transferred into the body of the Portuguese forward when they clash at the advertising hoardings in a game between England and Portugal.

The pair are left dazed and wake up the next day to realise they're not in their own bodies with Ronaldo a teenage boy, played by Gerson Correia Adua, in a single bed, surrounded by posters of himself.

Adua, making his acting debut, was an understudy to the actor originally set for the part but got the chance to step up when his superior injured his leg in a car accident.

The 16-year-old speaks fluent Portugese and English and is an avid footballer, as can be seen with his ability to make it seem as if Ronaldo is in fact trapped inside his body.

While Adua does an excellent job in imagining how Ronaldo would feel to suddenly be plunged into an English teenager's life, the Real Madrid forward seems to have fun pretending he isn't used to waking up in his luxury apartment.

He screams aloud as he acts as the boy realising he has switched lives with his hero, before checking out his abs in a giant mirror.

There were a few changes for the former Manchester United star to get used to though, as the Koenigsegg he drives in the film did not belong to him, and neither does the dog in the film - as his own canine is unable to bark on demand.

Ronaldo did his own stunts for the collision scene at the beginning of the film, which took just three takes.

The short film, which is Nike's longest ever brand film at nearly six minutes, then documents the two characters attempts to get used to their vastly different new lifestyles.

The teenager, called Charlie Lee in the film, crashes Ronaldo's sports car on the way to his first training session and is well below par in training to the bemusement of Portugal team-mate Ricardo Queresma.

Meanwhile, the Portugal star stuck in the youngster's body gets to work on wowing his friends with his new-found superiority on the football pitch, rising up the ranks.

A dribbling montage then sees Lee's ascent up the leagues, playing for Preston before arriving at Manchester City of all places, teaming up with another Nike athlete Raheem Sterling to score against Barcelona at the Etihad stadium - leaving Javier Mascherano in his wake.

The film finishes as events turn full circle, with another clash between England and Portugal where Ronaldo is effectively facing himself with commentator Jim Proudfoot quipping 'it's like we're seeing Ronaldo against Ronaldo'.

The pair clash in a 50-50 challenge, switching back before Ronaldo grabs his bicep in delight at returning to his former body - then giving the youngster a playful clip round the top of the head after helping him up.

A whole host of Nike stars are shown in the final game with Ronaldo setting up Andre Gomes to score while Ross Barkley is pictured on the ball for England and Harry Kane gets on the score sheet.

Other players that feature in the film include Joe Hart, Chris Smalling, Megan Rapinoe, Jose Fonte, Cedric Soares, Vieirinha, Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial and Sergi Roberto.

The film is the latest pre-tournament eye candy for fans from Nike, who make the kits of both Portugal and England.

The Switch was shot with Ronaldo over five days in Spain, and saw the stars of England and Portugal get to wear this sides official kits for Euro 2016 for the first time.
