RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) A court has ordered popular club Flamengo to reduce the price of tickets for the Brazilian Cup final against Atletico Paranaense.
The ruling on Thursday came a day after Flamengo officials were taken to a police station for interrogation for failing to provide documents requested by authorities claiming the price hike for the Nov. 27 final was abusive.
The new prices are about 50 percent cheaper than what the club was charging, which ranged from about $110-350, significantly more than usual.
Prosecutor Paulo Jose Sally told the UOL website that "Flamengo must respect" the court order and reduce prices by the end of the day.
The club, which can appeal, already started selling tickets on Wednesday.
