SAO PAULO (AP) Club world champion Corinthians says it won't keep coach Tite next year and is reportedly close to a deal to sign former Brazil manager Mano Menezes.
Corinthians president Mario Gobbi said Friday both parts agreed not to renew Tite's contract that ends in December.
Corinthians, which won the Copa Libertadores last year and then beat Chelsea in the Club World Cup final, has been struggling in the Brazilian league and recently was fighting just to stay out of relegation zone. It is 10th in the 20-team standings with four rounds left.
Tite stayed three years with Corinthians, winning a total of five titles.
Local media said the club already has a verbal agreement with Menezes, who coached the team from 2008-2010 before taking over the Brazilian national team.
