Save NUREMBERG, Germany (AP) Nuremberg says Swiss coach Christian Gross has turned down the club's offer to become its new coach.
The Bundesliga club's director of sports, Martin Bader, says "we did not come together." Nuremberg has been negotiating with Gross for two days.
Bader says Nuremberg will continue to
look "for the best, not necessarily quickest option."
Nuremberg is without a win in eight matches this season and is 16th in the 18-team league. The club fired Michael Wiesinger on Monday.
Gross formerly coached Stuttgart in the Bundesliga but has been without a job for a year and a half.
