GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) Greece striker Georgios Samaras scored a hat trick as Celtic warmed up for its upcoming Champions League match against Barcelona with a 5-2 win at Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
Celtic went 3-0 up after 27 minutes thanks to Kris Commons' opener and two quick strikes by Samaras, before Kilmarnock pulled two goals back before halftime.
However, Samaras completed his hat trick in the 88th and Amido Baldo added a fifth in stoppage time.
Celtic remained second in the standings on goal difference, however, because surprise leader Inverness beat Hibernian 3-0.
The reigning champions take on Barca on Tuesday and will be looking to repeat its memorable home victory over the Spanish giants in the group stage of last season's Champions League.
