GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) Celtic has signed Finland striker Teemu Pukki from Schalke on a four-year deal.
The Scottish club says the 23-year-old Pukki signed on Saturday, after his Schalke contract was terminated Thursday.
Schalke says both clubs agreed not to disclose the transfer fee, but reports put the fee at around 2.5 million euros ($3.3 million).
Pukki, who joined Schalke from HJK Helsinki in 2011, scored eight goals in 36 Bundesliga games for the German side.
He is quoted on Celtic's website as saying, "I spoke to our national team coach, Mixu Paatelainen, and he was saying it will be a good club to go to. Celtic are a great, traditional club."
