BREMEN, Germany (AP) Werder Bremen coach Robin Dutt says Argentine striker Franco Di Santo has been ruled out for three weeks after tearing a muscle at the back of his left thigh.
Di Santo suffered the injury in training Friday.
Dutt says "it's very bitter for him and the team. His three-week ban was served on Saturday in Stuttgart. Now it looks like he'll be out another three weeks."
Di Santo, who joined Bremen in the offseason, had been banned for catching Eintracht Frankfurt's Bastian Oczipka in the head with his boot on his starting debut for the side.
