BREMEN, Germany (AP) Werder Bremen has signed Argentine left back Santiago Garcia on loan from Chilean side Rangers de Talca with an option to make the move permanent.
Bremen general manager Thomas Eichin says "we reached agreement with all the parties, including Santiago's previous club (Italian side) U.S. Palermo."
The 25-year-old Garcia joined Palermo from hometown club Rosario Central in 2010. He spent the 2011-12 season on loan at newly promoted Novara. He made a total of 56 appearances in Serie A.
Garcia terminated his contract with Palermo after the side was relegated last season.
