MADRID (AP) Strikers Diego Costa and David Villa will not travel with Atletico Madrid for its Champions League game at Zenit St. Petersburg on Tuesday.
Atletico coach Diego Simeone left his top two scorers off the squad with his team's spot in the knockout rounds already secured after four wins in as many group games.
Regular substitutes Leo Baptistao and Adrian Lopez are on the squad and will likely get rare starts.
Atletico leads Group G with 12 points, followed by Zenit in second place with five.
Atletico is second in the Spanish league, three points behind leader Barcelona.
