LONDON (AP) Arsenal has taken action against academy coach Mark Arber after he apparently placed a bet on the club signing Mesut Ozil.
Arber posted a tweet suggesting he had bet on the arrival of the 24-year-old Ozil, who subsequently completed a club-record transfer to Arsenal from Real Madrid.
Regulations state that bets cannot be made relating to clubs, competitions or events over "which you have any influence, either direct or indirect."
An Arsenal club statement Friday said "all Arsenal employees and workers are well aware of their responsibilities in this respect. Following an investigation we have taken appropriate action in relation to a casual worker."
