ATHENS, Greece (AP) Aris, playing a man short for the final half hour, managed a comeback 2-1 victory, its first win this season, over host Panionios to escape last place in the Greek league on Saturday.
Chigozie Udoji scored the winner in the 88th minute with a thundering shot from outside the area. Panionios tried, but failed to equalize, even though six minutes of injury time were added.
Leonidas Kapadais opened the scoring for Panionios in the 58th and David Aganzo equalized in the 62nd. Two minutes after that, Aris' Nikos Tsoumanis was dismissed with a second yellow card for a hard tackle.
Also, Ergotelis defeated winless Platanias 3-1 to climb to second place, and Atromitos drew 2-2 at Asteras.
League leader Olympiakos hosts Veria on Sunday.
