Winston Reid's West Ham might have got the better of Ryan Nelsen's QPR 2-1 this morning (Tues NZT) in the first English Premier League match to feature two New Zealanders, but it was an otherwise unhappy time for Reid.
The All Whites' defender eventually trudged from the ground after 20 minutes after being knocked out during a heavy clash with QPR goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen. The game was held up for five minutes as medics attended to him but he finally got to his feet and walked off.
Reports out of the UK said Reid was later sitting up and talking in the dressing room and wasn't concussed.
He confirmed he suffered no major injury when he tweeted: "thx 4 everyones tweets all good great win for the team and great start to the season #COYI".
Reid has been a regular for the Hammers this season under manager Sam Allardyce but won't want to miss any games through injury and risk losing his starting place.
