A lack of capacity looks set to scupper Eden Park's bid to host the All Whites' international football friendly against Paraguay on October 12.
New Zealand Football is yet to decide on a venue for the match which is all but confirmed.
It's hoping to stage the game at a ground with a capacity in excess of 30,000 which would appear to rule out North Harbour Stadium.
Eden Park Trust Board chief executive David Kennedy says his stadium's capacity will be 50,000 but only from the end of October. He says the new South stand won't be open so they could only get to 30,000 at a push.
Wellington's Westpac Stadium - colloqially called the Cake Tin - is the favourite to host the game, with Christchurch's AMI Stadium booked for a conference.
